GREAT FAMILY, GREAT NEIGHBORS AND GREAT FRIENDS
When people mention Brazickis, those seem to be the best words to describe the family. On a day when we pay tribute to the Brazicki family, you can’t have a conversation without mentioning Brazickis Tavern.
I had the honor of meeting Mrs. Brazicki for the first time the other day and we had the chance to talk Jersey City….chit chat about the old neighborhoods. Growing up in Marion, her husband who went to Marist, hanging out on the Stoop and all great things that she enjoyed while living in the Heights. I told her that the first time I hung out at Brazickis was during Glenns birthday party when he celebrated his birthday with a mutual friend Noni. Although I didnt have the chance to thoroughly experience the Brazicki Tavern experience, I had the chance to hear about it in detail from Mrs. Brazicki herself…..the New Years eve parties, the softball teams, the pool games, St Patricks Day parties, the pig roasts…..so much more.
Brazickis Tavern was the neighborhood bar on Spruce and Liberty that some have considered their second home. It was a place you can count on to run into friends where you can talk about anything under the sun including why the Jets suck, the Yankees are awesome, the Heights was the place to live in, Hudson beat Prep, gravy vs sauce or simply why Jersey City was the place to grow up in……..it was a place that was synonymous with the family that owned it…..A great place.
Many memories made and so much to list. However, we leave that to you and ask if you can share your memories and add more photos to the album. Below is a collection of photos that people have donated.
This album is dedicated to the Brazicki family and we Thank them for the many years of great times and a lifetime of memories. They say All good things must come to an end….but does it have to? The store will close forever on Sunday September 2, 2017 but our memories hanging out with the Brazicki family at Brazicki Tavern will never go away.
Thank you to a great family, great neighbors, great friends and a great place. Goodbye Brazicki Tavern.
