Schultz’s Department Store on Ocean Avenue is where we did some shopping. They always had whatever was needed. I shopped there as an adult until it closed, could always buy dungarees there. There also was a great bakery ( German I think) on the next block up.

Does anyone remember the Star Market, a butcher shop between Pearsall and Bartholdi ?
The facade was painted red. It was just across the street from Paul Bros. hardware
